Meet Dr. Weir
Biography
Dr. Weir is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina and the son of the late Dr. A. Frank Weir. He graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1974 and obtained his B.A. in economics from Wake Forest University in Winston, Salem. Dr. Weir matriculated at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and received his M.D. degree in 1982. Two years of General Surgery training at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans led to his otolaryngology residency with Tulane University.
Dr. Weir returned to Spartanburg to practice as an ENT in 1987. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Head and Neck Surgeons. Dr. Weir is a member of the American Rhinologic Society, Spartanburg County Medical Society and the South Carolina Medical Society. Dr. Weir enjoys all aspects of adult and pediatric general otolaryngology and allergy.
Dr. Weir is married to Dr. Lisa Ward Weir of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Two of their children are married, and all are following professional careers in medical fields. Dr. Weir’s personal interests include sailing, skiing, computing and hiking. He enjoys spending time on the lake, particularly in the Lake Keowee area. Dr. Weir and his family are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
